Posted: 5/27/2008 - The person I spoke to about the bricks is Ms. Valie Williams(Jablin Williams' mother), she can be reached at 901-266-3034. She said the first order has already gone in and an additional order will be placed. However, the single bricks are now $100. She can give you the prices on additional bricks and sizes. She also stated they are going to be at Juneteenth and will have more information there. Hope this helps. Also, the person in charge of the flags is Ms Mosella(unsure of her last name), she can be reached at 901-353-2739.
To anyone that attended Douglass High School from the class of 1946 - 1983. I know they closed the school after the class of "81", but those that were in the 10th and 11th grade at that time, do count.
Let's make this the biggest event ever, before the reopening of the "New School".
Tell parents, sisters, brothers, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends and enemies. Also, spread the word that each class is being ask to purchase a flag to put in the new school. I think the cost is $100.00. Contact Anitra Williams for more information 901 853-8683.
The class of "81" will have a flag, even if 10 of us will have to pay $10.00 each. You can also purchase a brick and have your family's name place on it. Neet can get you this information or the person in charge.
